Peter Jr.'s Room

Image
23 rooms. Some rooms take 11 different 24 inch trims.  Painted or stained.  I am trimmed up to my eyeballs. Here is the original Peter's room: Here's mine so far: Note the original has no ceiling molding, but I had a little oops with dimensions.  Her doors were probably made by the builder, mine were purchased, so I was stuck with the dimensions, and had to do a little altering.  That left a little gap, so I opted to install the quarter round. I wish it was not so 'new' looking, but I think it will start to fade fairly quickly.  I may replace Peter at some point- this little guy has 'Denmark' written in black marker down the back of one leg. Because the house will be lifted up onto a base at some point (when I finish the dang roof shingles...), I have opted not to put accessories in yet.  Not to mention I need practically all the little pieces for Peter's room. Anyone know where I can get 5 white rats? I have to say I have not

Alice, Remember Alice?*

Alice II has great braids, but is short, quite short.  I would need to attach her on top of a little block for her to see out of the window correctly.  I was pulling things out of the Large Scale house to sell, and came across Alice III.   Taller, shorter braids, but I can put a skirt on over her outfit and not ruin the 'original' outfit.  I use quotes around original because who knows how old her little silk Sailor type dress is. My room- Faith Bradford's room- I need the curtains and some accessories- and a whiter chair. Mark and I guessed at the size of the halls, and we may have messed up and made them a bit too wide.  The only place I am going to have an issue with is Alice's room.  My bed is too long.  On the other hand, Faith's bed for Alice is too wide! My first step is to slice the bed across the middle and take out an inch or so, then glue back together.  Mark can remake the closet to make the door trim right at the edges.

Mr. Doll's Study, again!!!

I shouldn't have done it; there are much more important things to do.  But I couldn't stop myself.  I had to do it.  I know you'll understand. This is the study- photo courtesy of Mr. Bird's book- Take a good look at the chandelier.  I think it's a candelabra with pearls glued on.  Ya' think? Bought this on Ruby Lane during their sale last week, and glued pearls on.   Oh Yay!   I couldn't stop myself from papering, and then before it was dry, I couldn't stop myself from adding things.  Then I wanted the doorways open, so I cut them with the wallpaper paste still wet.  After that I figured I might as well stain a door and see how that looked, and well...I couldn't stop! Not perfect, but pretty dang good for now! I need to tidy up the paper; add door frames, baseboard and molding; hang pictures, and add some accessories. May I please put a bug in your ear?  I need 3, yes 3, Lynnfield breakfronts.  I have 2 Shackman for the Libr
